Heather has 4 years of experience teaching both kinder and 1st grade and was a Lead Teacher for K-2nd in Phoenix. She has been certified in both trauma informed care and conscious discipline. Proud Mom to of Benjamin, who is 5 years old. She enjoys reading, singing and love a good cup of coffee!
Lauren has 8 years of experience teaching first and second grade in San Jose and Phoenix. She is a former team lead and curriculum director for a STEAM Summer School program working with grades K-5. She got married in 2022 and has a cat named Liam. She loves baking, yoga, Peloton workouts and reading.

Our Tempe Microschool Leaders go above and beyond — from building volcanos together one day, to helping students learn the basics of karate. This campus has a beautiful playground that students take advantage of throughout the day, enjoying the (almost always!) beautiful Arizona weather.

How are microschools different?
Our Microschools focus on small-group, student-centered learning, ensuring that every Primer kid gets the support they need and learns to work collaboratively. Each campus has a unique community where families can feel connected to their child's educational journey.
What is the tuition at Primer?
Primer is committed to making an exceptional education accessible to every family. Our out of pocket tuition operates on a flexible sliding scale, up to $24,000, tailored to meet the unique financial situations of every family.
Are there scholarships available?
We provide generous financial support and resources so that an education at Primer is within reach. We'll help you secure state scholarships and have additional scholarships available through The Primer Foundation for families who qualify.
Is Primer right for my family?
The three commitments we make to every family are that we take kids seriously, we make math and literacy are the cornerstones of learning, and we give students the resources, structure, and space to pursue their interests.
